Biography
Friedrich Nietzsche was the son of Carl Ludwig Nietzsche and Franzisca Oehler, and he had 2 younger siblings, Elisabeth Forster-Nietzsche and Ludwig Joseph Nietzsche. When Friedrich was only a four year old boy, his father died of a brain ailment. Following close after, when Friedrich was only 5, his 2 year old brother died of unknown causes. This was very hard on the whole family, so they moved to Naumburg, where they lived with his paternal grandmother and his two unmarried aunts. When Nietzsche's grandmother died when he was only 12, they moved into their own house. Soon after he graduated high school, he lost his faith. His mother was devestated because Nietzsche's father was a pastor, and the family was very religious. Although, after he lost his faith, he spent more time studying philosophy. His first philosophy writings came out short after. Unfortunately, he was struck with a mental illness and had to retire before the age of 40. Ten years later he took a turn for the worse, and didn't write a thing in his last years of life.
Many people blaim Nietzsche for a lot of things. For example, he had a Superman theory, a superior man to replace God. Well, Hitler and the Nazi's ended up using it, and, you guessed it, people blamed Nietzsche. Sure, he made the quote, but did he know years after his death the Nazi's would use it? No! How could one know? That's just one example of many

Philosophy
Friedrich Nietzsche was an empiricist. He believed that there are no absolute and fixed truths. Meaning, humans think some things are true that are not true. Nietzsche was highly critical of human thinking in general, our remarkable ability to decieve ourselves. He opposed the Christian belief very much, and he often tried to counteract it. He often tryed to prove that God is infact non existant. He believed this: "Thus fixed truths in religion and morality are an illusion. We created them, thus 'God is Dead' and morality is relative to the individual."
Nietzsche believed that all men should strive to be Superman. What this means is that everyone should strive to become great, and that everyone should try to be the superior man that replaces God. This was one of his most famous beliefs, and the Nazi party found out about this ideal. This was one of Hitler's greatest messages, which often made people think it was Nietzsche's fault, which isn't true. The Superman theory also depicted how Nietzsche was an athiest.
Nietzsche did not believe in values or truth. Surprisingly, he was still a pretty honest guy. Many of his friends could count on him to be there and give an honest opinion. He was an existentialist, one of the best ones of his time, along with Soren Kierkegaard.
